Compiled by the Dry Rubber Section of the then Analytical Chemistry Division, this manual covers a wide spectrum of analysis. Apart from determining constituents of natural rubber which affect its quality, analyses also cover chemical materials used for processing latex in the Rubber Industry as well as mineral constituents important to the physiology and nutrition of Hevea. This manual is the first attempt to describe in detail current methods of analysis employed in the Dry Rubber Section. It is hoped that the Manual will acquaint research and advisory personnel of both the Institute and the rubber industry with these techniques and scope of analytical services available in the Institute.
