Description: With two-digit annual growth rates, thermoplastic elastomers belong to the most interesting recent polymer developments. From the wide family of thermoplastic elastomers, new types of polyolefin blends - TPVs - are presented, + namely two-phase polymers consisting of a continuous PP matrix and a synthetic rubber phase embedded in the PP in a microdisperse distribution and in a highly crosslinked state. Such blends show at room temperature a rubber-like deformation behaviour, + but still have thermoplastic processing properties, a main advantage with respect to recycling.
